Remember when they said it would be the “wild west?”
Back in 2003, when Minnesota lawmakers passed the state’s “Permit to Carry” law, opponents claimed it would turn Minnesota into the “wild west” with lawful permit holders engaging in vigilante-style justice. They were wrong then, and they continue to be wrong today about the Second Amendment and why we should enhance – not restrict – the ability of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. President Biden in his State of the Union Address recently called for even more limits on gun owner rights.
As your Congressman, I will be a rock-solid defender of the Second Amendment and will support:
- Constitutional/Permitless Carry
- Castle Doctrine
- Stand your Ground Laws
- Criminal Justice reform to lock up those who use guns illegally
And I’ll oppose:
- Red Flag Laws
- Background check expansion
- So-called “assault weapon” bans
- Emergency Powers laws that restrict gun ownership in any way
Following the authoritative policies implemented by our leaders during COVID, I am even more convinced that we need to fight back against any efforts that allow our government to track or confiscate any weapons.
“…the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” reads the Second Amendment. It’s not difficult to understand or interpret. As your Congressman, I will always protect your Second Amendment freedoms.
